For the weekend, the finals will be decided in Visma Ski Classics, the long-distance World Cup in cross-country skiing, in Ylläs-Levi, Finland. In connection with this, Team Tynell announces that this will be the team’s last competition and by that conclude a journey of 14 years. A journey that began when Daniel started his own initiative in Grycksbo IF’s colors in the spring of 2005. The main focus has always been long-distance skiing at international top level. The brother team “Team Tynell” was born in 2011 when Rikard also choosed to focus on long distance racing.
– During these years our skiing has been based on value words such as heart, soul, passion, joy and long-term approach. We have had a family profile and with a strong connection to Dalarna and Grycksbo, a profile we have always been able to cherish thanks to all our fantastic partners, many of whom even existed since the start. The ambition has also always been to work with our partners to be a strong team both in and outside the tracks. We have had the goals of always being involved in the fight at the top of the top when we are on the starting line. Now, Rikard chooses to finish his elite career after this season, which means that the team’s family spirit and soul will not be the same, says triple Vasaloppet winner Daniel Tynell, now team manager for Team Tynell.
Daniel Tynell’s own words for the weekend:
“It is with deepest gratefulness, respect and a bit of sadness that we now conclude the journey with Team Tynell. Our skiers over the years; Daniel, Rikard, Jerry, Laila and Jens, can proudly together count five Vasaloppet victories, four wins in König Ludwig Lauf, three victories in Marcialongaas well as victories and podium places within the long-distance World Cup tour to name a few. It has certainly been a fantastic journey with plenty of experiences, memories and laughter. A journey of pride, which we could not have done without our main sponsor Villa Långbers, our skisponsor Salomon, all of our fantastic partners and not least our families, relatives and friends who have been there for us all these years.
But even if everything has an end, it also means a beginning of something new and exciting. Our passion for skiing, wellness, health and well-being will always remain and be a big part of our lives. So hopefully our roads may also be crossed in the future for other purposes but with the same spirit. Now we will enjoy the last competition and take the moment, for the last time as a team, when we stand on the starting line for the weekend
So, thank you from the depths of our hearts to everyone of you who made our journey with Team Tynell possible!”
